LANDRUM ENT CLINIC
CATEGORY : HEALTHCARE
SUB CATEGORY : COMMERCIAL
To accommodate his growing practice, Dr. Tre Landrum acquired a large tract of land to develop into a medical professional complex. Redland Childers Architects worked with Dr. Landrum to design a new 6,000 square foot medical clinic as the first building in the development.
The facility is designed for three areas of service, each of which pay close attention to functionality, privacy, and efficiency. The ENT area of the building has four exam rooms and a procedure room. The sterile processing room is placed adjacent to the procedure room for ease of access. A physician’s work area was placed behind the exam rooms near the east wall overlooking the nearby pond. The Nurse’s station is centrally located between the ENT, Allergy, and Audiology areas. From here the Nurses are able to keep track of all activities within the patient areas. Directly across from the Nurse’s station is the Allergy area of the clinic. It is made up of a separate Shots waiting room, a Shots room, Allergy Mixing room, and an Allergy Testing room. Adjacent from the Shots room is the location of the CT scanner. Just down the corridor from the Nurse’s station is the Audiology area. It includes two Audiology Exam rooms with sound booth, VNG testing room, and a Hearing Aid Lab.
The facility also has a centrally located safe room of ICF construction. Offices and a large break room occupy the corridor just to the east of the Audiology area. The waiting room was designed to take advantage of the beautiful views of the surrounding site through the use of large windows. Unique features of the Waiting room include a 600 gallon saltwater fish tank, and kids play area. Included as a part of the clinic project, the site utilities were designed to accommodate the tract of land when fully developed.
