ADA EARLY CHILDHOOD

CATEGORY : EDUCATION

At nearly 50,000 square feet, the Early Childhood Center is one of the largest projects utilizing insulated concrete forms (ICF) construction. Like giant Lego blocks, the polystyrene forms are stacked together to form a wall with cavity for steel reinforcing and filled with concrete. The roof deck uses polystyrene forms for reinforced concrete. When completed, ICF construction provides good insulation, energy efficiency, reduced noise levels, and a high strength (concrete) building. This school consists of 28 Classrooms, Administration Area, Library, Computer Lab, Vocal Music Room, Cafetorium, and Gymnasium that doubles as a FEMA-Rated Tornado Shelter.
